Employment Services
Easter Seals Southwest Florida Employment Services Program assists people with disabilities to successfully obtain and/or maintain employment. Individualized counseling is designed to reach vocational goals, offering assistance in filling out job applications, creating resumes and cover letters as well as enhancing job interview skills.
As a participant in this program, you will have assistance in further developing all phases of employability skills that are unique to your individual needs.
As an employer, you will have an applicant who is qualified to meet the demands of your job opening. We know that a good job match is the key to a successful outcome for both the employer and employee.
Both the employee and employer will have the support of an Employment Consultant, a trained professional whose goal is the same as yours—job success. Assistance varies greatly from one person or business to the next, as it is based on the specific needs of each. This employment service is free.
Employment Skills Training
Depending on the desires, vocational goals and capabilities of the job seeker, training is individualized to meet their needs. This training may encompass the following:
- Dressing for success
- Writing resumes and cover letters
- Practicing for job interviews
- Improving job search and networking skills
- Maintaining and improving your career success
- Enhancing customer service skills
Employment Consultants
These trained professionals support both the employee and employer in a variety of ways, depending on their needs.
The following is a list of some of their responsibilities:
- Complete a worksite analysis
- Provide ADA information if needed
- Provide on-the-job training when needed
- Determine if accommodations are needed and help make recommendations
- Stay available to both the employer and employee on an as-needed basis
- Provide work opportunity tax credit information
Our Employment Consultants can assist you in finding qualified applicants to meet your employment needs. The Easter Seals Employment Services Program has assisted many individuals with varying educational backgrounds and work experience. Some of the employers we have worked with include medical offices, researchers, newspapers, manufacturing facilities, hotels, retail and grocery chains, school systems, restaurants and non-profit organizations. They have utilized this free service to add diversity to their workforce while gaining reliable, dedicated employees.
