Day Programs for Adults with Disabilities

Our adult day training program provides relevant personal, social, therapeutic, and work skill training to adults with disabilities through community and center-based resources.  The activities are designed to advance individual independence and expand participants’ life choices at work, home, school and in the community. 


Adult Day Training (ADT)
 
Adult Day Training provides activities that are participant-driven, reflecting the needs and desires of the individual.  Photo of staff and participants in Adult Day Training
This includes:
Community Inclusion experiences
Community work sites
Contract work (within the center)
Art Initiative Program (art instruction)
Community volunteer opportunities
Monthly social activities (i.e. dances and other activities)
Technology Center with adaptive equipment

Easter Seals Southwest Florida has developed a unique art program for participants in their Adult Day Training program.  Many of the adults are very creative and this program is inspirational in helping the artists develop their talents and abilities. All the artwork is for sale.  Proceeds benefit the artists and the Art Initiative Program to cover costs for supplies, framing, and other expenses.

Easter Seals Southwest Florida Employment Services Program assists people with disabilities to successfully obtain and/or maintain employment. Individualized counseling is designed to reach vocational goals, offering assistance in filling out job applications, creating resumes and cover letters as well as enhancing job interview skills.

The VIP (Vocational Introduction and Preparation) Academy is an alternative high school program for students age 15-22 years old who are eligible for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) services. The primary purpose of the program is to teach self-esteem and offer vocational training which will lead to job placement.
